Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya (/ˈlʊho/ /qu̽ˈʧɪːzʊ/ [comic] [frost]) is a subtropical Large City located in Gà S̺ûku̽chû Kingdom, Àsu̹ Ûyu̹ Empire, within the Warren.

The name Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya is derived from the Sylvin language, as Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya was founded by Colle, who was culturaly Rattu.

Climate

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya has a yearly average temperature of 5°C (41°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a cold 4°C (39°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 6°C (42°F). Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya receives an average of 222 cm/y (87 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya covers an area of nearly 244 km² (97 mi²), and an average elevation of 1266 m (4153 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya was founded durring the early 14th century in spring of the year 1301, by Colle. The establishment of Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya's construction back out of the project. Colle pushed on reguardles, and Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya was built using the conventions of Rattu durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya is buildings are arranged arrounded a highly ordered system of premissive worn bedrock streets which form triangular paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The city posesses a mighty albit amaturly crafted stone wall. It was built using querried stone blocks and posesses all of the standard defencive features, including a few watch towers. While it would last against a siege, the wall's outdated and simplistic construction method percludes the possability of Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya weathering a full scale bombardment durring a siege. The budget focused millitary grade defenses have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

A look around Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya seems to be home to a quite vibrant and boisterous community. Everywhere one looks they can see people going out their daily business with a smile and a spring in their step. Children play loudly in the streets, causing untold havoc as youth are want and allowed to do. On second glance, that chaos continues into adulthood. People seem to be allowed to do as they please with little harmoney to anything. It feels less like a city, and more like a spot people just happened to place their homes. Yet there are small elements here and there which show the underlying structure of the community. It’s just so complex, organic, and flowing one can only understand what is a piece of the puzzle, but not what its neighbors are.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya possesses a city-wide Aethary Link which provides Aethary access anywhere within its metropolitan. This allows citizens who can afford the relevant devices access in their places of work, and rarely homes.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya has an animal control department which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the control, impoundment, and disposition of animals.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya's parks.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya has a government-funded child care program, overseen by the local Department of Nursemaids, which is responsible for providing childcare to working-class citizens according to local ordinances.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya has a Hall of Slayers, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya has an Administrative Academy which trains individuals in the administrative arts.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Large City. Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya's grid is powered by a direct leyline tap.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya's old civil lighting system was converted to Galvanic Lamps recently, and expanded to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya has a library, which keeps a large collection of books, scrolls, and archives all manner of physical items. The library is open to the public, including the Aether Link.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya's natural decorations nor waterways.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya is home to a University which provides higher education in a variety of fields, and also serves as a research institute for those same fields.

Cultural Notes

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by towering round arches, massive stone and brickwork, small windows, thick walls, and a propensity for housing art and sculpture depicting mythological scenes. The building's general shape would be a clever and ascetic combination of geometric shapes, which would be blended together by joining elements. The style's decorative features were largely internal rather than external and incorporated semicircular arches for windows, doors, and arcades; barrel or groin vaults to support the roof of the nave; massive piers and walls, with few windows, to contain the outward thrust of the vaults; side aisles with galleries above them..

In Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya every night at precisely midnight every structure in town is engulfed by sailors fire until the end of the witching hour.

The Caypup near Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves performance art to channel Augury energies of tier 3 via proclamations.

Points of Interest

While private tutelage of worthy apprentices can be had even in most remote villages, Lûho Qu̽chîzû Gûchya is home to a proper school dedicated to teaching magic. Such schools are usually small, with no more than a few dozen pupils, most of whom will fail for lack of talent or discipline. The instructors are rarely first-rate, usually serving only for the pay and status, but sometimes a genius sorcerer will find a reason to observe likely apprentices here. Given the unfortunate accident potential of the school, it’s probably isolated or well-fortified.
